In a culture of justice and accountability, an organization’s human resource decisions are based on the systematic analysis of events and consistent application of a just culture algorithm. This month’s presentation will provide an introduction and overview of the just culture algorithm “Duty to Avoid Causing Unjustifiable Risk or Harm.” Using a case scenario, we will review the duty and apply its components to assist in recommending a fair and defensible personnel action following an adverse event.
