Simulation has been a disruptive innovation for healthcare training, yet the full potential of this methodology demands integration on an organizational level into the existing quality improvement and patient safety programs. Simulation can be leveraged to engage front line staff, drive system improvement and promote safety culture. Zero harm initiatives can use simulation to prevent errors before they ever reach the patient. In this webinar, we discussed opportunities to use simulation for staff training, assessment, error prevention and promotion of safety culture.

Objectives:

  • Describe the role of simulation in reducing potential harm to patients
  • Explain how to leverage simulation to improve overall safety culture
  • Identify strategies for integrating simulation into YOUR patient safety program
