Senior Director, Risk Management and Patient Safety

Ms. Tarnow joined BETA Healthcare Group in 2010, having been in healthcare for over 25 years. She is a Registered Nurse and certified professional in healthcare risk management. In her role as Senior Director, Risk Management and Patient Safety she leads the comprehensive, principled, and systematic approach to responding to and reducing harm in healthcare known as BETA HEART®. Prior to joining BETA, Ms. Tarnow was the Director of Risk Management and Patient Safety for an integrated healthcare system with responsibility for overall risk identification, loss prevention, sentinel event management, and development and implementation of reliable systems to promote patient safety. Ms. Tarnow is a past president and current member of the California Society of Healthcare Risk Management (CSHRM) and a member of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM). Ms. Tarnow earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration, and in 2006 completed the Institute of Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Patient Safety Officer training and the American Hospital Association Patient Safety Fellowship in 2013.
